Explore Nature with Kids Shelter Building & Nature Art Elizabethtown, NY — The Elizabethtown Social Center is excited to host a free outdoor event for kids and teens of all ages on Sunday, November 16th from 1:00–4:00 PM. This unique experience combines hands-on survival skills with creative expression in the heart of nature. Kids & teens will learn to build natural shelters using sticks, leaves, and other materials found in the woods. Afterward, they can explore their artistic side with leaf and bark rubbing, capturing the intricate textures and patterns of the forest in a fun, relaxed activity. Set on the lower grounds in the woods at the Elizabethtown Social Center, this event offers a perfect opportunity for young adventurers to connect with nature, develop new skills, and enjoy an afternoon of creativity and exploration. Needle Felting Workshop
Get crafty with Lakeside School, Black Kettle Farm at the Elizabethtown Social Center Needle Felting Workshop for Beginners (teens and adults) Learn about wool and how to form it into an art piece at this relaxing workshop. Choose from a smorgasbord of wool colors and create a felted object as you delve into the world of wool. Over an hour and a half, our experienced teacher Janora Stone will walk you through the art of needle felting step-by-step, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident in your newfound skills. Explore different techniques and styles to make a personalized decorative piece in a fun and cozy environment. At the end of the class, return home with your woolly creation along with the skills and confidence to continue DIY needle felting. Let's get crafty together!
