Doc Lopez Run for Health
Celebrate Spring. Embrace the Adirondacks. Each spring, the Doc Lopez Run for Health brings runners, walkers, and outdoor enthusiasts together for a refreshing start to the season, all while supporting population health with Elizabethtown Community Hospital. This beloved community event offers something for everyone: Half Marathon: A stunning 13.1‑mile point‑to‑point course honoring Dr. Robert “Doc” Lopez: veterinarian, accomplished runner, and Adirondack legend. The race begins in Keene Valley and follows the scenic NY Route 9N corridor straight into Elizabethtown. 5K Trail Race: A fun, family‑friendly route inviting participants of all ages and abilities to run, jog, walk, or even skip along a beautiful Adirondack trail. New route this year! Running club and family discounts are available during registration! Thanks to our generous event sponsors, registration stays affordable and more of the proceeds go directly toward supporting patients and families in our community. It’s a true celebration of health, nature, and togetherness. Support Your Community With Every Step! The Doc Lopez Run for Health is a chance to lift up our community. When you rally support, join teams, or inspire friends to match their gifts, incredible things happen right here at University of Vermont Health – Elizabethtown Community Hospital. Every step powers vital local programs that keep care close to home, including: ? Food and supplies for the Community Cupboard ? Free health clinics for diabetes, heart health, women’s health, and more ? Comfort items for patients undergoing chemotherapy ? Tools for home health and safety, like blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, and pill organizers ⛴️ Travel support, including gas and ferry cards for patients who need help getting to appointments Every contribution stays local. Every runner strengthens access to quality care. Every team brings us closer to a healthier community. ?‍♀️ Move with purpose. Lift up your neighbors. Let’s run for health! ?‍♀️

Outdoor Community Soccer
A group dedicated to fostering a healthy lifestyle and building community through the game of soccer in Elizabethtown, NY. Come join a fun community group who just love playing soccer. Haven't played in a decade? Currently playing on your college team? Just need to get out of the house and move your body? Looking for a greater sense of community? YOU have found the right group! We are lucky enough to use the local Town-owned soccer field on Noble Terrace. Elizabethtown Adult Soccer Guidelines: We are happy to be an inclusive group of individuals looking to have FUN, exercise, and meet people in our area. We don't even keep score! We are a CO-ED group that gathers each week. Therefore, the crew is always changing and evolving. We DO NOT tolerate discrimination, excessive profanities, negative behavior toward others, or any actions that are hurtful to any other players. If such behavior is occurring, you will be asked NOT to play. We encourage you to join us from anywhere (not just etown/Lewis/Westport) if you live here full time, part time, or just visiting for a week. Please join us if you play for your school team, have NEVER played, haven't played in 25 years, or play in a summer league already. A lot of us are parents, and our children play in the areas around the field. Sometimes we can even get them to be our "ball kids," shagging the strays we kick a bit too far. Also, NYS laws apply to all of us, use your basic common sense please. Remember, the size of the field depends on how many players show each day. We aren’t playing on a regulation field unless we have enough people. Hope to see you on the field for the best season yet!
Elizabethtown Planning Board Meeting
The Elizabethtown Planning Board reserves the Boardroom in the Town Hall on the FOURTH Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
Bounce House Playgroup
Join the fun every Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.! Little ones ages 0–5 and their parent or guardian are invited to play, explore, and make new friends. Tots can bounce in the bounce house, build with blocks, make music with instruments, and enjoy lots of other toys, while learning important social skills through play. Grown-ups get time to chat, laugh, and share experiences, too! We will move the play group outside when the weather gets nicer! All are welcome from Elizabethtown and neighboring communities. Please contact the Social Center for more information at news@elizabethtownsocialcenter.org or (518)873-6408. Event hosted by ADK Habla Spanish!
