Elizabethtown's Code Enforcement & Assessor's offices are located on the second floor of the Town Hall.
The Code Officer is in the office on Wednesday's from 9:00am - 12:00pm NOON.
Available by phone, Monday - Friday, (518) 637-5620
The Assessor is in the office the 2nd & 4th Friday of the month from 8:00am - 4:00pm.
If there is a 5th Friday, the Assessor's office will be open 7:00am - 11:00am.
Local Property Resources
The Hamlet (or village) of Elizabethtown is considered to be those properties within "The Bridges." To the North, the first bridge on the Elizabethtown-Wadhams Road (County Route 8), and the bridge at Deep Hollow Pond to the South. The Bridge at the end of River St (NYS Route 9N) is the border to the West, and on the Keene Road (Route 9N) the border is just before the Lord Road intersection. You can view the Zoning Map here.
Anything planned for property in all of Elizabethtown (including New Russia) requires notice to the Code Enforcement Officer, Gordon Costin. Once you fill out a Building Permit, the Code Officer will guide you through the process. He is here to help you navigate your property needs and will refer you to the Planning Board or Zoning Board of Appeals if necessary.

Planning Board meets the FOURTH TUESDAY of each month at 6:30PM in the Boardroom of the Elizabethtown Town Hall at 7563 Court Street.
Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)
meets on an as needed basis and for training purposes.
The Board of Assessment Review works with the Assessor after exemptions are calculated and before the Final Tax Roll is created. Their schedule will be updated when the new timeline is provided by NYS Real Property.

The Elizabethtown Planning Board reserves the Boardroom in the Town Hall on the FOURTH Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. This Planning Board meets on an intermittent, as needed basis and for training purposes. Please contact Margaret Bartley, Planning Board Chair, to check if the meeting is taking place on a particular month.
